Fish Beer Batter

Excellent summer meal when accompanied with a salad.


1 1/2 cup beer
2 1/2 lbs fish: cod, sole, halibut
1 tbsp baking powder
3/4 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 cup flour
3/4 tsp salt or to taste
pepper to taste
oil for deep-frying


  1. Mix dry ingredients together, add beer and mix thoroughly.
  2. Dip fish in batter and deep fry in preheated oil.

*Success Hint – Let batter stand for about 15 minutes to allow time for thickening before coating fish.
