Red Wine Turkey Baste


1 cup red wine
1/2 cup butter
1/4 tsp garlic powder (or fresh chopped garlic)
1/4 tsp poultry seasoning
1 pinch ground sage
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
4 drops hot pepper sauce (optional)


  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the red wine, butter, garlic, poultry seasoning, sage, lemon juice and hot pepper sauce, if desired. Stir together well and let simmer for about 10 minutes. Continually baste turkey throughout cooking process.

Makes 1-1/2 cups
